VIN Decoder

Decode any 17-character VIN free: year, make, model, trim, engine size, cylinders, fuel type, plant, body class and GVWR.

VINs never contain the letters I, O, or Q. Find yours at the base of the windshield or the driver's door jamb.

Data: U.S. NHTSA vPIC database — free public VIN decoder. Canadian-market builds occasionally report U.S.-spec details; when in doubt, call us with the VIN and we'll verify fitment.

FAQ

Where do I find my VIN?

The most common spots are the base of the windshield on the driver's side (visible from outside), the driver's door jamb sticker, your insurance card, and your registration. On older trucks check the frame rail.

Why does my VIN have no letter I, O, or Q?

The VIN standard excludes I, O, and Q to avoid confusion with the numbers 1 and 0. If you're reading one of those, it's a 1 or a 0.

Does this decoder work for Canadian vehicles?

Yes — Canadian-market vehicles use the same 17-character VIN standard. The database occasionally shows U.S.-spec details for some trims; call us with your VIN and we'll verify exact parts fitment.

Can you find parts from my VIN?

That's our specialty. Decode your VIN, then request a part — we'll match the exact engine, transmission, or body parts from 1,200+ vehicles in our Edmonton yard.
