Cookie Policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
Most of what this site remembers about you isn't a cookie at all — it's browser storage that never leaves your device. Cookies only come into it if you accept analytics.
What the site stores on your device
Essential browser storage keeps the site usable, and is always on. It holds your tire cart (eskimo-tire-cart) and your Liqui Moly cart (eskimo-liquimoly-cart), the vehicles you save to your garage (eskimo-garage), your cookie choice itself (eskimo-consent), and whether you accepted the disclaimer on our tool pages (eskimo-tools-terms-accepted). The VIN decoder also keeps the vehicle it decoded for the rest of the browser tab session (vin:…) so re-checking the same VIN is instant. All of this lives in your browser, not on our servers.
Analytics cookies are set only if you accept. Google Analytics then loads and writes two cookies — _ga, and a second one named after our measurement ID (_ga_…) — which give your browser a random identifier so we can count visits and see which pages help. Decline and Google Analytics is never loaded, so neither cookie is ever set.
If you accept and later change your mind, declining does not just stop the tag: _ga would otherwise sit on your device for two years, so we delete it and its _ga_… companion from this browser at the same time. Browsers can refuse that, so the control at the bottom of this page tells you whether they are actually gone.
The same gate covers every other measurement tag we may run — Microsoft Clarity, Meta, TikTok and Google Ads. None of them loads before you accept, and each runs only while it is switched on for this site.
Third-party content on our pages
Our home and contact pages embed a Google map of the yard. That map is part of the page, so it loads before any cookie choice and your browser contacts Google to fetch it.
Our forms run Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out, the chat window sends your messages to Anthropic to generate a reply, and the VIN decoder sends the VIN you type to the U.S. NHTSA vPIC database.
The other companies behind this site
Stripe takes online payments. Paying hands you over to a checkout page hosted by Stripe, and the cookies needed to run and protect that payment are set there, on Stripe's own page, not on ours.
Vercel hosts this site. Every page, image and script you load is served from their network, so they handle the request your browser makes.
Supabase holds our data. Your browser talks to it directly to search the catalog, send a form or start a checkout, and if you sign in to your account it keeps that session in browser storage (eskimo-tires-auth), not in a cookie.
Klaviyo is the email platform for our new-arrivals list. No Klaviyo code runs on this site and it sets nothing on your device here — a sign-up is stored by us and, when that connection is switched on, passed to them.
Our Privacy Policy covers what each of these receives.
Your control
When you first visit you can Accept or Decline. Until you choose, no analytics or advertising tag loads at all — and Decline keeps it that way.
You can change your choice at any time under “Your cookie choice” at the bottom of this page; the “Cookie settings” link in our footer brings you straight here. Switching to Decline deletes Google Analytics' cookies from this browser and reloads the page, so nothing that was already loaded keeps running.
You can also clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Clearing site data also clears the carts, garage and cookie choice listed above.
