Warranty & guarantees
Every part tested and backed
Since 1984, we've stood behind what we sell. Every part is pulled, tested and warranty-backed, additional warranty is there if you want longer, and the quote is the price. Here's exactly what you get.

4-year no-fault nationwide warranty — included
On gas engines in non-commercial use. The builder’s standard cover is 3 years, parts only. Every gas engine we sell includes the 4-year no-fault warranty with labour, at no extra charge.
- What it costs
- Nothing extra — it is in the price of the engine.
- “No fault”
- “No fault” means we do not investigate why it failed — if a covered engine fails inside the term, it is covered.
- Labour
- Labour is paid up to CAD $95.00 per hour — a cap on the rate, not a flat payout — and only for the remove-and-replace hours in the Mitchell labour guide. Diagnostic time is covered up to 2 hours, and fluids up to CAD $200.00. Towing and a rental car are not covered. Anything not listed here needs to be agreed with us before the work starts.
- When it starts
- The 4 years start the day the engine is installed, and a claim needs proof that a professional shop installed it.
- Limits
- Unlimited kilometres, and no deductible.
- Before the work starts
- Call us before any warranty work starts, so we can authorise it. Labour paid on a repair we were not asked about first is not covered.
- Making a claim
- A claim starts with a call to us. We file it with the manufacturer, and the manufacturer pays it.
- Diesel & commercial use
- Diesel engines, and engines put into commercial service, are not covered by this 4-year warranty — the terms vary by engine, so call us for the terms on the unit you’re pricing.
Tested, warrantied, 90 days
Every used part is tested before it leaves the yard and carries a 90-day warranty — included, not an upsell. Additional warranty is sold separately if you want longer than that.
Reman gas engines: 4 years, included
On gas engines in non-commercial use, at no extra charge — labour paid up to CAD $95.00 per hour on Mitchell remove-and-replace hours, with proof of professional installation. Diesel and commercial-service engines are not covered by it.
Right-part guarantee
We verify fitment by year/make/model/VIN and Hollander interchange before it leaves the yard — so you get the correct part the first time.
Fair, refundable core charges
Reman units carry a separate, clearly-stated core charge that's refunded when your rebuildable core comes back in acceptable condition.
The quote is the price
The price we quote is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons after you commit. Straight answers since 1984.
Inspected tires
Every used tire is checked for tread depth, age (DOT date), and sidewall condition — we won't sell anything unsafe.
Shipping damage? Every order is photographed before it leaves the yard — note damage with the carrier on delivery and call us. Full terms live in our warranty & returns policy.
Warranty questions
How long is the warranty on used parts?
Every used part is tested before it leaves the yard and carries a 90-day warranty, included in the price. Additional warranty is sold separately if you want longer than that — ask us when you get your quote and we'll price it with the part.
What warranty comes with a remanufactured engine?
A remanufactured gas engine in non-commercial use carries a 4-year no-fault nationwide warranty that includes labour. The builder’s standard cover is 3 years, parts only. Every gas engine we sell includes the 4-year no-fault warranty with labour, at no extra charge.
Does the 4-year warranty cost extra?
No. The builder’s standard cover is 3 years, parts only. Every gas engine we sell includes the 4-year no-fault warranty with labour, at no extra charge. There is nothing to add at checkout and no upgrade to buy — if you are quoted a price for a gas reman engine, that price has the 4-year no-fault warranty in it.
What does “no fault” mean?
“No fault” means we do not investigate why it failed — if a covered engine fails inside the term, it is covered. What we do need is proof that a professional shop installed it — that is the one condition on the coverage.
When do the 4 years start?
The 4 years start the day the engine is installed, and a claim needs proof that a professional shop installed it. Unlimited kilometres, and no deductible.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Call us before any warranty work starts, so we can authorise it. Labour paid on a repair we were not asked about first is not covered. A claim starts with a call to us. We file it with the manufacturer, and the manufacturer pays it. Call (780) 473-2424 with your invoice number and we will open it — you do not chase the manufacturer yourself.
Does the 4-year warranty cover diesel engines or commercial use?
No — the 4-year no-fault warranty applies to gas engines in non-commercial use. Diesel engines, and engines put into commercial service, carry terms that vary by engine, so call (780) 473-2424 and we'll tell you exactly what the unit you're pricing carries.
How is the labour paid?
Labour is paid up to CAD $95.00 per hour — a cap on the rate, not a flat payout — and only for the remove-and-replace hours in the Mitchell labour guide. Diagnostic time is covered up to 2 hours, and fluids up to CAD $200.00. Towing and a rental car are not covered. Anything not listed here needs to be agreed with us before the work starts. So a shop billing more than CAD $95.00 an hour, or more than two hours of diagnosis, leaves a difference the warranty does not pay — worth settling with your shop before the work starts. Call (780) 473-2424 with your invoice number and we'll walk you through a claim.
What does the warranty cover?
It covers the part performing as described. If a warrantied part fails within the coverage window, contact us and we'll make it right — repair, replace, or refund per the part and terms. Apart from the remanufactured gas-engine warranty above, warranty covers the part itself and not labour, installation or towing.
How do core charges work?
Remanufactured parts include a refundable core deposit. Return your old rebuildable core in acceptable condition and we refund the core charge.
What if I get the wrong part?
We verify fitment before shipping, but if a part doesn't fit, contact us right away — our right-part guarantee means we sort it out.
Can I return a part?
Yes — see our returns policy for the window and conditions. Electrical parts and special orders may differ; we'll always tell you up front.
Questions about a specific part?
Call or text and we'll tell you exactly what's covered.
