Tool Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Last updated: July 11, 2026
Thanks for using our free tech tools. The short version: this is reference data, not gospel — verify anything safety-related against factory information before you work on a vehicle, and understand that we can't take responsibility for how the data is used. The full terms:
1. Reference information only
The calculators, decoders, identification charts, and reference tables on this site (the “Tools”) are provided free of charge for general reference and educational purposes. They are not repair instructions, and they are not a substitute for your vehicle's owner's manual, the manufacturer's service information, or the judgment of a licensed technician.
2. No warranty
The Tools and all data in them are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Vehicle specifications change between model years, trims, markets, and even mid-year production runs; despite our efforts to verify entries against multiple sources, errors and omissions can occur.
3. Verify before you work
Always confirm torque values, fluid types and capacities, part fitment, ratios, and identification details against your owner's manual or the manufacturer's official service information before performing any work on a vehicle.
Wheel fasteners in particular: use the factory specification for your exact vehicle and wheel type, tighten in the proper star pattern with a calibrated torque wrench, and re-torque after approximately 50–100 km of driving. Never rely on a general reference table for wheel torque alone.
4. Assumption of risk & limitation of liability
You use the Tools at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eskimo Auto & Truck Parts Ltd., its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including personal injury, property damage, vehicle damage, or economic loss — arising from or related to your use of, or reliance on, the Tools or any data they contain. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the Tools is to stop using them.
5. Not professional advice
Use of the Tools does not create any client, advisory, or service relationship between you and Eskimo Auto & Truck Parts. If you are unsure about any repair, consult a licensed automotive technician.
6. Third-party data
The VIN decoder queries the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) vPIC database, a public government data source. We do not control and are not responsible for its content, availability, or accuracy. Canadian-market vehicles occasionally report U.S.-market details.
7. Errors — tell us and we'll fix them
We want this data to be the most reliable free reference on the web. If you find an entry you believe is wrong, call us at (780) 473-2424 or use the contact page, and we will review and correct it promptly.
8. Intellectual property
The Tools, including their compiled data tables, layout, and text, are the property of Eskimo Auto & Truck Parts. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Republishing, scraping, or redistributing the data tables without written permission is not permitted.
9. Changes
We may add, modify, or remove Tools and data, and may update these terms, at any time without notice. Continued use of the Tools after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
