A thread repair kit for stripped, worn or damaged M14x1.5 metric fine threads, such as drain plug holes. The pouch kit holds 6 stainless steel inserts (21.0 mm long), the matching HeliCoil tap (4976-14) and an installation tool (4973-14); a 9/16 in drill is needed and is not included. Note this is M14 x 1.5 pitch, not the usual M14 x 1.25 spark plug thread.

Warnings
- Drill out the damaged threads with the drill size given on the kit (9/16 in), deep enough for the insert length and the bolt or screw used
- Use the HeliCoil tap supplied in the kit and check the size on its shank; tap deep enough for the insert length and the bolt or screw used
- Wind the insert in with the supplied installation tool until the top coil is 1/4 - 1/2 turn into the tapped thread
- The tang must be removed for full bolt passage. For M14 and larger inserts the maker says to use long-nose pliers: hold the tang and bend it in and out until it comes free
- Maker note (spark plug section): do not use HeliCoil wire inserts to repair taper seat plug ports
