A medium-strength anaerobic surface sealant for warp-resistant metal flanges such as cast metal housings and pumps. It cures where air is excluded and the metal parts are in contact, seals gaps up to 0.25 mm and is rated from -55 °C to +180 °C.
It is ideally used for warp resistant metal flanges, such as cast metal housings and pumps. When air is excluded and there is metallic contact with the connecting components, a media and temperature resistant sealing film forms, which then hardens.
- Single component
- Resistant to: Oil, grease, fuel, coolant, cold and hot water, salt water, etc.
- No airing time required.
- The sealing function is immediate.
- Minimum shelf life: 24 months in unopened containers.
- Anaerobic sealants are used on a metal/metal surface, e.g. for metal sealing flanges, on engine housings with integrated internal moving parts (camshafts/ water pumps/ gearbox).
Warnings
- Canadian SDS (Hazardous Products Regulations SOR/2015-17, revision 09/09/2026): Carcinogenicity, Category 2 H351; Signal word: Warning; H351 - Suspected of causing cancer.
- SDS precautionary statements: P201 - Obtain special instructions before use. P202 - Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. P280 - Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection. P308+P313 - IF exposed or concerned: Get medical advice/attention. P405 - Store locked up. P102 - Keep out of reach of children.
- Sealing surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of oil or grease before applying the sealing compound in order to ensure reliable sealing and adhesion.
- Anaerobic: cures only where air is excluded and there is metallic contact (metal/metal surfaces).
- For sealing in the field of fuel supply, we would recommend using a solid seal. Although Curil T2 and El-Liq 73 and El-Liq 74 are fuel resistant, our experience has shown that better sealing results are achieved with a solid seal compared with a sealant.
